You know what I love most about engagement sessions here in Shoalhaven, Jervis Bay, NSW? It’s the joy of sharing my favorite locations with couples who are experiencing them for the very first time. There’s something special about witnessing their excitement as they fall in love with these breathtaking spots, and Cave Beach is no exception.
When Alexi and Taylor reached out to me for their engagement session, they mentioned how they often visited Jervis Bay to see family, but had never made their way to Cave Beach. I could tell they were in for a treat. I love guiding couples through some of the more hidden gems in the area, and Cave Beach was a perfect choice for them. The beach is one of the best kept secrets of Jervis Bay—it’s tucked away, serene, and private, offering the perfect setting for a romantic and intimate photoshoot. The first time I took them down the pathway leading to the beach, their eyes lit up, and they immediately felt the magic of the place.
Cave Beach is as stunning as it sounds. With its towering cliffs and crystal-clear waters, it creates a perfect backdrop for a photoshoot that’s both dramatic and peaceful. The beach stretches far and wide, giving us plenty of space to explore and find unique spots without bumping into other visitors. It’s the ideal escape, where you can lose yourself in nature and each other.
As we walked along the shore, Alexi and Taylor had the freedom to be themselves. They were a little nervous at first—Alexi even admitted they’d never had professional photos taken before and weren’t sure how to pose. I love these kinds of moments, because it gives me the opportunity to work with couples and help them relax into the experience. There’s no need to worry about stiff, awkward poses. Instead, I let the magic of the moment unfold, and Alexi and Taylor did just that. They spent the afternoon dancing on the glassy sands, laughing, exploring the hidden caves along the beach, and simply enjoying each other’s company.
As we captured their genuine love, it was clear they had an incredible connection. From the tender moments where they shared quiet, loving glances, to the carefree energy as they ran along the beach, the session was a beautiful reflection of their relationship. I’m always amazed by how couples who aren’t accustomed to being in front of the camera can bring out such authentic emotions when they’re in the right setting—Cave Beach proved to be the perfect environment for Alexi and Taylor to let go and just enjoy the experience.
